What advice would you give to someone who is new to teaching statistics?

Get yourself a copy of Gelman and Nolan's “Teaching Statistics: A Bag of Tricks”.

I love Jeremy Singer-Vine's Data is Plural newsletter and spreadsheet archive. Also great is Larry Winner's miscellaneous datasets, lots of datasets good for particular techniques.

I love teaching Data Communication and Visualization!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

One of my hobbies is darning, a method of mending knitted items.
